For this project I got to work with the team at Massive Assembly to produce trading card assets for Discord. These trading cards are part of a marketing promotion in which physical packages of trading cards were printed and sent to social media influencers.
My role was as modeling lead with a team of two other modeling artists. We undertook the modeling of all 23 card designs over a period of about 2.5 weeks.
I was responsible for planning and scheduling, blocking, set finalizing and delivery, character posing and clean up, as well as owning the entire modeling process on many of the props, characters and environments.
Modeling Process
In order to meet the quick turnaround, I had to work iteratively. First step was to bring in characters and set up the camera, then a very quick 15-30 minute set blocking pass. Then I blocked all props for proportions before splitting each individual prop to its own file for model detailing.
From there, the set and individual props would receive detailing passes, the characters would be roughly posed using a rig, and then I would take them into Zbrush to clean them up. Finally, all pieces are updated in the original set and prepared for delivery to the client.

Discord's Birthday
In addition to the 23 trading card designs we were also tasked with modeling a special image for Discord's birthday. I worked together with another artist to complete the modeling on this in about a day and a half. I was responsible for blocking, character posing and modification, and modeling of the set.
